2018 Club Training


Waveney Nippers Team “Black Shucks” 7 – 12 year olds

Pool training takes place at The Ashley Trust’s swimming pool in the cooler months, then moves onto Lowestoft beach in June.

The Nipper programme will be coached from SLSGB’S Nippers Award syllabus and RLSS’s Rookie Lifeguard awards.

These awards Contain survival, rescue, sports skills and First aid.

Senior Team

Seniors training is for all levels of abilities and all you need to be able to demonstrate is to swim 50 meters in a pool test to take part.

Training in winter starts in the pool, Surf Ski training on Gorleston beach and also practising first aid in the classroom.

Our seniors train on Lowestoft beach from 1st if march incorporating a mix of swimming, board and running along with other beach activities.

2018 will bring surf ski sessions that will take place on Gorleston beach though out the summer.

we aim to send a senior team to the SLSGB nationals this year.

(seniors team is for 18 year old plus, however 16 – 17 years can take part if they hold a Life Saving award)

Waveney Youth Team 14 – 18 year olds

Our youth team train progress the participants to competition level and progress them to enhance their Life Saving skills into being ready to qualify as beach lifeguards.

All you need to take part is SLSGB membership, club membership and to be able to swim 50meters unaided
