About Waveney Surf Lifesaving Club
Established in 2016 by a small group of surf lifesaving enthusiasts, Waveney Surf Lifesaving Club began with a clear vision; to help teach vital lifesaving techniques and improve beach safety knowledge in the local communities around Lowestoft and Southwold. Several years on, the Club has grown to become a thriving community in its own right, with members and followers of all ages and abilities. We run regular training sessions all year round, and have a great calendar of social events for members, friends and family to enjoy.

Our club is completely run by volunteers and is funded through membership subscriptions, grants and generous sponsorship and donations.

Training
We run training sessions throughout the year for our Nipper, Youth, and Senior groups. During the summer months our sessions are held at South Beach, Lowestoft. Nippers train once a week, Youth and Seniors can train two or three times a week. Sessions offer a balance of lifesaving skills techniques, and fitness training.
In the winter we train at Water Lane Leisure Centre. For our Youth and Senior members we also run ski paddle training sessions at Oulton Broad on a Sunday morning, and fitness sessions on a Monday evening, typically running focused on the upper promenade at Lowestoft.
Club Social Events
We love a good get-together and welcome our members, their family and friends regularly to a variety of social events. Not only are these great fun, but they help raise funds to keep our Club going. As well as our annual Christmas party, with the famous watermelon eating competition, there's also our summer 'do', quiz nights and more!
